The necessity for women's emancipation and the importance of 8th of March, International Women's Day, is increasing every year. This year, the USA and western States with their military threat and militarism and the Islamic Republic of Iran and political Islam have made the world an insecure and scary place with their terror and menace. In this situation, International Women's Day should be the symbol of the defense of humanity and libertarianism, and opposition to any kind of war and terror from any of these reactionary poles. The world should especially be called to struggle against sexual apartheid and the dreadful situation of women in Islamist countries.
In Iran, the anti-woman Islamic Republic of Iran is ruling and is trying to militarize the society and suppress people's struggle with the threat of the atomic bomb. So 8th of March and libertarian and egalitarian demands of women and especially the struggle against Sexual Apartheid and the Islamic Veil are of greater importance. The unfolding revolution of Iran will be a “female” revolution. As 8th of March and the slogan of “Liberty of women is liberty of society” are raised with the greater power, the struggle for emancipation from the Islamic regime and establishment of freedom and equality will be stronger.
The CYO (Communist Youth Organization) identifies itself as a part of the women's emancipation global movement and will fight with all of its power in Iran and abroad for a glorious International Women's Day. In Iran we will celebrate 8th of March. Abroad we will together with the Worker-communist Party of Iran and the Organization of Women’s Liberation have activities in several countries.
We call for all libertarian youth abroad to have an active role in demonstrations and gatherings of 8th of March and invite their classmates and friends to establish a global movement against sexual apartheid and horrendous situation for women’s rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran and Islamist countries. We call on all youth in Iran to celebrate International Women's Day, writing 8th of March slogans all over the cities, distributing flyers, fighting against the Hijab and any other sexual apartheid and finally gathering in ceremonies and gatherings in universities and parks.
